Am I interested in become a teacher

The title is a difficult question. I don’t have the answer yet.

When I started to study this career , I was really enthusiastic with it. Because during the years I spent at school I had great experiences with my teachers and I dreamed to be like them. But then, when I came here, I realized that it wasn’t an easy work.

Anyway, I still hope to continue with my dream.

Now, at the university I knew an special person who is always teaching me to value the life with bad and good moments. She is a teacher and like a way to be grateful with her I would like to become a teacher.

I realized during my years of learning that education is a right and everybody can has an active role on it.

I would like to be a great teacher in every sense. For example if I teach is because I like do it not only for work and get money. The teacher’s work is so complex but the most important characteristic is to be engaged with it.

My main purpose is guide to my students and not only focus on the subject, like in this case English. Instead of that, I would like to share with my students experiences I had lived and they too. Because the most important thing is create and adequate place in which the students can learn. This place has to be created with communication and confidence. The relation should be formed by reliance, learning and love.

So, I don’t want to be like ordinary teachers. I would like to be creative and I would like to continue learning different ways of teaching through technology to give to my students more possibilities in an unequal world.

My Platonic Love

I’m going to write about my favorite football player. I want to write about him because I know him and I like his personality. So, he is my platonic love.

Matías Fernández was born on May 15th, 1986 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The most important thing is that he was considered Chilean and he has plays for our national team. At the age of tour, he arrived to Chile and he lived in La Calera. But then when he was 12 years old he came to Santiago to play football in Colo-Colo team.

His nicknames are: el pelusa, matigol, and crack. He has 1, 76 meters tall and his weight is about 73 Kg. His favorite number is 14. So he uses that number on his t-shirt.

In 2004 he started to play professionally, I mean in the adult team. At this date he became recognize because he played the World cup in Netherland.

In 2006 he was the best football player in America. After this prize, he traveled to Spain to play in Villarreal team.

I had the opportunity to meet him during training at the stadium. Because I’m a member of his official fans club called “Un angel de humildad”. I talked with him and I realized he is a wonderful person, but he is very shy. For that reason he never gives interviews to sport journalist.

In his free time he spends time with charity institutions and I love this characteristic on him.

He likes to listen to music, watch TV and spend the time with his family. When he left Chile, he went to Spain with all his family. The only problem is that he is a bit sugar mamma because he does not take any decision without asking to his mother.

When he makes a goal, he celebrates with the movement of a telephone on his hand. Because that represents he is calling to his family through a long distance.

Bullying!

Years ago, a friend of mine told me that she was victim of bullying and because of this now she is very shy and she doesn’t show her feelings. So, how can we manage this problem like future teachers?

The problem is related to the act when a person attacks to other principally using violence, in other words physical abuse.
The bullies, I mean the person who committed bullying describes a form of harassment. Due to this person represents a major dominance than the victim. Finally, the victims of bullying have a lot of emotional problems even they can hurt themselves until the death.

All settings in which exist interact with others is the precise place to create bullying, especially in schools because is where we can socialize since children until teenagers or in places where is no supervision.
The most important characteristic of bullying is the person who attacks refuses to socialize and criticizes the victim’s manners.

In a research published on the web, it explained that about 85% of bullying victims suffer long term psychological damage and stress related disease later in their lives.
A specialist said "If aggressive behaviour is not challenged in childhood, there is a danger that it may become habitual. Indeed, there is research evidence, to indicate that bullying during childhood puts children at risk of criminal behaviour and domestic violence in adulthood."

In my opinion we in a near future can create the conditions to change the childhood’s mind. Trough games, psychological assistance and going out. Because I think the bullying is a psychological problem. The attackers probably want to demonstrate their power because may be at home no one values them. All of us need to feel affection or there is someone who loves us.

The individual’s interests seems to be “more important” than society in today’s world

First of all, it’s important to say that I don’t agree with this phrase.
Nowadays, I think all of us are not focus in the individual’s interest. For the contrary, we are concentrated in society’s interests. I mean, in the physical appearance or in superficial characteristics because the society are turned more important in our lives. At the same time people try to create a good impression because the culture had changed, I mean now the importance of how we look or how see us the other people is very important for our personality.
Well, after think a lot about the topic, I conclude that there is a proverb related to it. This proverb is “don’t judge a book by its cover”. A good example is the girl who died of anorexia in Valparaiso. Her classmates were always saying her “you are so fat”, “you are ugly” and things like that. She was really affected. Because, she was sensitive and very shy. Also, she was introvert. So, she took a bad decision and finally she was seriously sick.
I like this proverb. Because, the most important is what we have in our inner instead of our superficial characteristics.

Actually, in all countries the most important problem is discrimination. Principally caused by our interest in what the society says about our appearance, behaviour, religion. If we accept that people are controlling us, it can become into a serious social problem.
For conclude, the individual’s interests are being changed, I mean, we are not giving them the real importance and if we want to create a better world we have to focus on what we want and give importance what the people are, not what they have.

An interesting experience

Last Tuesday my classmates, my teacher and I went to a seminar about crisis of education. So, we visited the Santiago’s library located in the center of the city.

It’s important to mention that this seminar was available for everyone who wanted to listen it.

Now, I’m going to focus on Humberto Maturana’s reflection. Because it was really interesting and I agree with his point of view about education.

He started his declaration saying education is not the same as school. Due to the education is related with live together, I mean is the relation between the integrants of this process like teachers, students and personal who works at the school. In comparison, school is the physical space in where we can realize this process.

Nowadays, he said the education is in crisis. The education became an illness. Because, instead of be a free right is a kind of business available for rich students. Including that in private schools the education is better than in public schools. But is not only this problem. The most important is that the future of the humanity is in danger.

The adults are in charge of guide, teach and prepare to children for change our world. But what’s happen in today’s world? The answer in one. Children are not being prepared according to moral values or ethical values. For the contrary, the bad quality of teachers who are in contact all the time with these children, are not able to guide in a good manner the everyday of children.

Finally, after listen this seminar I reflected in the education and I’m absolutely agreed with him. Because, the mission of our like future teachers is teach to children but not only the English subject but also make them able to live in society.

A travel that changed the world!

For me it’s an important advance for our world when in 1961, the first man entered to the space.
A Soviet cosmonaut, Yuri Alexéevich Gagarin was the first man who travelled to the space and the first to orbit the earth. Gagarin was a successful pilot who had the conditions to make this important project. First of all, he had to pass some exercises, trainings, psychological tests and then the experts decided he was able to flight into the space.

On April 12th, 1961 he flew to this new galaxy in a small spacecraft called “Vostok 1”.
Before the flight, there were many speculations about the life that could exist there. Some people believed that God lived in the space and things like that. But when he came back said "I don't see any God up there."

His travel was about two hours and while he was flying, in the earth he was considerer a hero. During this flight he reported to the mission control that everything was normal.
Finally, when he was crossing the atmosphere realized that the spacecraft was in flames.
So, he activated his parachute and he fell in the earth.

On March 27th, 1968. He and his instructor died on a routine training flight near Kirzach.
After read a bit more about this story, I realized that all the people are always trying to get new things or trying to investigate more. When Gagarin entered to the space, gave the chance for us to try to do new researches. In other words, this experiment was the beginning for new advances in science, math, but not only in these aspects. Also, for the society. Because of this, were made changes in the way of thinking and it was improving the quality of life.
